02.26 - I'm a Bag Lady

I like to save things-- and condiments definitely fall into the category of "things." If I have an extra packet of Splenda, I'll throw it into my purse. I'll do the same with packets of ketchup, mustard, mayo, hot sauce, hot chili seasoning, butter, salt, and pepper. Note to self: do not throw packets of salt and pepper into your purse.

There is salt all over the bottom of my purse now-- and it's gotten into all my stuff: book, chapstick, candy wrappers, pen cap, coin wallet, etc. I really just need to stop throwing food-related substances into my purse. I'm not even going to go into how I threw an unwrapped piece of bread in there to eat at a later time . . .

TUESDAY, February 26th
Breakfast
+ veggie taco with egg, cheese, and roasted potatoes (I didn't eat the tortilla, though)
+ French vanilla flavored coffee with skim milk and Splenda
+ a Samoas cookie and a Lemon something or other cookie
Lunch
+ small plate of mac and cheese with Tabasco splashed on top
+ a few green M&Ms
Mid-afternoon Snack
+ medium nonfat chai latte
Dinner
+ filet-of-fish (without the top slice of bread)
+ plate of shrimp pancit

02.25 - Just Another Manic Monday

I wish it was Sunday. Oh, whoa-oh. ;)

MONDAY, February 25th
Breakfast
+ sesame bagel with chive cream cheese
+ medium coffee with skim milk and Splenda
+ one chocolate munchkin (mm, hits the spot)
Lunch
+ one California-style veggie patty (I originally had two, but threw the other out)
+ handful of cheese puffs
+ Special K orange/chocolate cereal bar
Mid-evening Snack
+ 1/4 bottle of Vitamin Water "power-C"
Late Dinner
+ bowl of ramen with imitation crab meat
+ bowl of sweet rice flour balls in ginger/brown sugar soup

02.23 & 24 - Good Weekend

SATURDAY, February 23rd
Breakfast
+ small piece of a wheat bagel with cream cheese
+ two leftover pieces of the shrimp rolls
Lunch
+ sauteed squid with brown rice
Mid-afternoon Snack
+ piece of leftover cake with fruit topping (still good)
+ cup of coffee with skim milk and Splenda
Dinner
+ bowl of ramen with imitation crab meat thrown in (yum)
+ bowl of chewy sweet rice flour balls in ginger/brown sugar soup (Filipino thing-- sooo good)

+ blueberry bagel with cream cheese (I'm readdicted to bagels-- uh oh)
+ scrambled eggs with garlic, onions, and seasoned salt sprinkled on top
Lunch
+ half a "Californian" sandwich (fresh mozz, avocado, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes-- it was decent)
+ 1/3 Ghirardelli chocolate brownie (oh man...)
Dinner
+ bite of a Vietnamese shrimp spring roll
+ several pieces of fried shrimp and sweet potato concoction (so good-- it's like dinner and dessert in one, ha)

+ rice with a spicy shrimp and veggie dish (also quite good)
+ fortune cookie
Late-evening Snack
+ ice cream cone with vanilla softserve
+ three french fries with a little bit of ketchup

02.22 - Back to Reality

I couldn't do the just-veggie thing for too long. Go figure.

FRIDAY, February 22nd

+ handful of green M&Ms
Lunch
+ breaded catfish (without the breading) with hot sauce
+ handful of fries (I'm not a fries person, but these reminded me of the ones from Demon Dogs so I ate them all!)
+ vanilla cone dipped in cherry topping
Dinner
+ five shrimp eggrolls (mmm!!)
+ small plate of pad see eiw with tofu
+ few forkfuls of pad woon sen with shrimp
+ slice of white cake with fruit topping
+ glass of sangria

+ just the topping off a slice of leftover spinach pizza

02.20 - Road to Vegetarianism?!

This whole pescatarian thing has been going great. Yeah, it's a struggle to eat sausage pizza without the sausage or an egg, cheese, and bacon McGriddle without the bacon . . . but I've handled it pretty well. I already love seafood, and fish hasn't been so bad either. So yeah. I was enjoying an organic smoked salmon sandwich at lunch today when I started talking to my coworker about all the different sea creatures I've been eating. Squid came up and, while I was eating my sandwich, the memory of seeing my dad clean squid the other day flashed in my head. One particularly significant aspect of that memory is that he was cutting off the head part of the squid and its eyeball was just staring at me. The biggest, bluest eyeball I've ever seen. Uggghhhhhhhhh. I must have repressed that memory, but it came back to me so fast-- and eating that silky, smooth smoked salmon made me feel incredibly sick. Soooo yeaahhhh. I don't think I want to eat anything that used to be alive (or that used to have eyeballs, for that matter) for awhile . . .

WEDNESDAY, February 20th
Breakfast
+ two pieces of whole grain hearty wheat toast with spritzes of ICBINB spray
+ mug of coffee with skim milk and Splenda
Late-morning Snack
+ two to three big handfuls of the cheese-flavored Corn Pops (those cheese puffs I love)
Late Lunch
+ smoked Norwegian salmon with dill spread and alfalfa sprouts on pretzel bread (good at first . . .)
+ 1/2 bottle of Vitamin Water "rescue"
+ small piece of chocolate with roasted coffee bean pieces mixed in
Dinner

+ a small slice of bread dipped in olive oil
+ a few platefuls of a fancier and tangier version of caesar salad


+ one manicotti roll filled with ricotta, gorgonzola, sun-dried tomatoes and topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella
+ one or two pieces of sweet gnocchi in a cheese sauce

02.19 - Tubby Tuesday

I am disgusting. I ate way too much today, a lot of which wasn't very healthy. Ugh. Excessive consumption is a form of escapism, you know . . .

TUESDAY, February 19th
Breakfast
+ piece of California-style veggie burger (not bad)
+ a few bites of various pastries
+ mug of coffee with skim milk and Splenda
Lunch
+ two crab cakes with hot sauce
+ few handfuls of sweet potato fries
+ a few onion rings
+ several sips of diet Coke
Dinner
+ crab, fish, and shrimp ceviche with tortilla chips (the fish was mushy and gross, but the other two were good)
+ mahi mahi and garlic mashed potatoes in banana leaf
+ shrimp with garlic sauce and avocado/bean/tomato salsa
+ three warm corn tortillas (filled with the above two entrees-- mashed potatoes are awesome in tortillas!)

+ 1/2 passion fruit margarita
+ 1/2 blackberry margarita
Dessert
+ 1/2 Mexican creme brulee (the topping was yummy, custard was OK)
+ 1/2 pastel tres leches (pretty good)
