I ran around so much today that my meals were kinda whatever up until dinner. I should be busy more often.

12.20 - Food Documents Life

I realize that I like documenting my food intake, not only because it gives me a better idea of how unhealthy I am, but because it helps me remember certain moments. When I read back on what I've eaten, I'm brought back to that moment in time-- and I remember who I was with and what that day was like. A bit cheesy (I know), but I like that. :)

THURSDAY, December 20th
Breakfast
+ lox, tomato, and cream cheese on pumpernickel bagel
+ medium coffee with skim milk and splenda
Mid-morning Snack
+ few sugar-coated walnuts
Lunch
+ 8 chicken fries (with buffalo sauce-- yummy sauce)
+ one onion ring with "zesty" sauce

+ a piece of sourdough bread with butter

+ spoonful of New England clam chowder (oh my!)
+ Atlantic salmon stuffed with blue crab, scallops, and shrimp (oh my gosh, so good)

+ a small ramekin of creme brulee (although I didn't finish the entire thing)

12.19 - I Like Leftovers

I had several leftovers today-- but that's okay because I happen to like leftovers. I especially like doing unique things with leftovers, such as the soup I made on Monday (yum) or my infamous fried chicken omelet (mmm).

+ a little bit of three-day old scrambled eggs
+ bowl of oatmeal with cranberries and splenda

12.18 - Let it Burn

I tried to be healthy for breakfast this morning. I did pretty well-- but then I just ended up being really hungry the rest of the day. :\ Luckily I didn't eat anything too bad. And to top it off, I walked an excessive amount today, so I'm thinking I probably burned most of the calories I took in. I'm so awesome! ;)

12.17 - Brrrr Monday

It was bitterly cold today. I'm surprised I didn't stuff my face more.

MONDAY, December 17th

+ supreme omelet w/bacon croissant (good stuff-- ha)

+ 1/4 of a pumpkin donut

Lunch
+ a few pieces of baked flatbread pieces with honey butter (tasted like ice cream)
+ turkey burger, no bun (with portobello mushroom, tomato, lettuce, ketchup, and spicy mustard)

+ small plate of macaroni and cheese (not overly fatty, but still yummy)
Dinner
+ noodle soup with chicken, broccoli, and eggs (I threw together a bunch of leftovers to make this and it was quite yummy)

12.15 & 16 - Winning the Snowstorm Battle

So this weekend was quite busy-- despite the conditions left by Saturday night's snowstorm. I went on a mini road trip on Saturday, ate some yummy things, and luckily made it home alive. And Sunday was full of numerous festivities all over the city and a variety of food. All in all, it was a good two days and the snowstorm did little to ruin it. I just wish the weekend had been longer. :\ Can't wait for Friday already.

SATURDAY, December 15th
Breakfast
+ fried rice with eggs mixed in
+ one pork sausage pattie
+ cup of coffee with creamer
Mid-morning Snack
+ grande non-fat white chocolate mocha
+ sip of green tea latte (tastes like green tea ice cream)
Lunch
+ several battered and fried white cheddar cheese curds with BBQ sauce (yum-- and served in a beer bottle bowl)

+ crab melt on dark marble rye (good at first, but a little too much artificial crab meat taste)
+ cup of hot apple cider
Late-afternoon to Late-evening Snacks
+ two handfuls of cheese popcorn
+ one handful of caramel popcorn
+ medium hazelnut latte
+ a handful and a half of Ritz cheese sandwiches (mmm-- I love the processed fake cheese flavor)
+ handful of cheddar cheese curds (eh, they weren't flavorful or squeaky enough)
Late-night Dinner

+ baked salmon with cilantro and hot sauce (dee-lish!)

+ 2 Swedish meatballs (too salty)
+ three gingerbread cookies (to symbolize those present-- me and my two cousins-- ha)

12.13 - Communal Food Coma

We had a holiday potluck lunch at work today, and it turned out a lot better than most of us expected. Sooo many people brought in their best or favorite dishes—so it was quite a spread. And there were so many different cultures represented that it was like a mini food heaven. Oh, man. After everyone had their fill, the office was unusually quiet . . . except for someone’s Christmas music blasting from the computer. I’m pretty sure, though, that no one got anything done the last four hours of the day. Communal food coma, for sure. :}

THURSDAY, December 13th
Breakfast

+ 2 of Mom’s eggrolls
+ 1/2 can of Sprite
Lunch
+ an obscene amount of food (asian-inspired meatballs, fried chicken wings, buffalo chicken wings, artichoke chicken salad, deviled eggs, Mom's eggrolls, Mrs. Q’s fried rice, sausage and peppers, mushroom lasagna, turkey/chicken chili, collard greens)

+ only a bit of dessert (sweet potato pie, noodle koogle, ricotta cheese cake)
Mid-afternoon Snack
+ cup of coffee with non-dairy creamer and Splenda
+ several cubes of Amish butter cheese (good stuff)
+ several sesame seed tortilla chips (hearty and yum)

12.12 - "Why must you make everything into chicken nuggets?!"

Did I ever mention how I like to save the best of what I'm eating for the very end of the meal? That usually encompasses a little taste of everything-- and I pretty much do that with whatever I eat, including sandwiches. So how do you get a little taste of everything in a sandwich? You eat around the outside so that you're left with the complete, delicious inside! Genius, right? :} Too bad some people aren't as appreciative. *mean, squinty eyes* The coworker I went to lunch with today took one look at my plate and said, "Why must you make everything into chicken nuggets?! This really is one of your more annoying habits!" Ha. Just wait until he sees me make rice balls with my hands . . . ;)

WEDNESDAY, December 12th
Breakfast

+ scoop of scrambled eggs with seasoned salt
+ bottle of Vitamin Water “XXX”
+ 2 buttery pecan cookies
Lunch
+ 1/2 turkey burger melt (mmm)
+ 1/2 reuben (mmm)

+ a powdered sugar-covered gingersnap
+ 1/4 restaurant-bought chocolate chip cookie

+ 10 chicken nuggets, some with hot sauce (ha-- the lunch convo gave me a craving)
+ 4 buffalo chicken wings
+ 2 toasted blueberry waffles (yeah, I know—but when I like something, I like it often—ha)
+ 1/2 toasted blueberry bagel (what!? they have antioxidants and they’re yummy!)

12.11 - Downfall Caused by Coworkers

One of my sweet lady coworkers watched me yesterday as I took a biscotti from the cookie basket. She then said, "You know, everyone who works here gains weight." Geeeee, thanks for the information. It really doesn't help that she's the one that forces me to share steak bagels and chorizo burritos with her in the morning. Argh. My coworkers will surely be the expansion of me . . .

TUESDAY, December 11th

+ two small chocolate macadamia nut biscottis (the ones my coworker baked)

12.08 & 09 - Weekend of Mishmash

I have no idea what I ate this weekend. All I know is that there were many kinds of food and I pretty much consumed whatever was available. It was crazy-style cold and icy this weekend, so I like to think my excessive consumption was a survival instinct. Those with bigger bellies have a lower center of gravity-- hence, more stability and less likelihood of a fall. *smirk* Riiiiiiight. Anyway, here goes (to the best of my memory):

SATURDAY, December 8th

+ two full plates of a whole mess of Filipino and Mexican food (it would take too much effort to go into detail, but it was damn good)

Today was my work holiday party, and it was surprisingly enjoyable. We pretty much goofed around and ate all day. Then a bunch of us went out for drinks after the festivities were over, and that was like another party in itself. I like the people I work with. They make me want to embrace my worst qualities-- dorkiness, fattiness, and all-upness. ;)

12.03 - Best Monday Ever

I woke up a little later than normal, lounged around for a bit, and met up with my fat friend (term of endearment, people). We indulged in a nice fattie breakfast, headed over to the spa, and had massages for a little over an hour (with heavenly hot stones!). We then ran a few errands, took a brisk walk through downtown, had some yummy pasta, met up with some other buddies, and proceeded to cuddle up on the couch with big blankets, Take Home Chef, and a movie. After an afternoon of well-spent bumming, I finally went home to my jammies and Monday night TV shows (which were slightly disappointing, but oh well). *content sigh* Every Monday should be like this.

MONDAY, December 3rd

+ sausage, egg, and cheese McGriddle
+ 1/2 hashbrown
+ cup of coffee with two creams and three sugars

+ Pasta Niko (shells, white wine cream sauce, artichokes, sausage, pancetta...oh my...)
